Mary Groves Rossi is an Associate Professional Clinical Counselor who has worked with children, adolescents and adults as they explore life’s difficult experiences. Over the years Mary has gained her therapeutic experience when working in intensive outpatient programs, acute psychiatric hospitals, as well as private and community practices.
While entrusted with supporting her patients and clients, Mary has utilized an eclectic therapeutic approach including cognitive behavioral therapy, cognitive behavioral movement therapy, solution focused, narrative (exposure) therapy, somatic therapeutic interventions, components of attachment and emotional focused therapy and expressive/creative arts. Overall, her approaches are holistic addressing cognitive (thoughts), emotional, behavioral and spiritual concerns.
Her educational background includes a Doctor of Psychology and Masters of Arts in Marriage Family Therapy, both from California Southern University, Masters of Science in Psychology/Addiction Studies from Capella University, Doctor of Ministry; Religious Fine Arts, from Friends International Christian University, and Bachelors of Arts in Theatre Arts; Dance, from Sonoma State University. In addition to Mary is a Board Certified Dance Movement Therapist #1298, certified by the American Dance Therapy Association. Mary is currently working toward certification as a Naturopathic Practitioner.
Mary is completing her required hours toward independent LPCC licensing and is supervised by Phillip Atkinson, PhD, ABPP (#21927).
