About Dr. Phillip Atkinson

Dr. Atkinson is a Licensed Psychologist and is Board-Certified in Clinical Psychology by the American Board of Professional Psychology. His areas of clinical specialty include evidence-based treatments for anxiety, post-traumatic stress (PTSD), depression, grief, and stress management.

Dr. Atkinson practices Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) for couples, and he is a member of the International Centre for Excellence in Emotionally Focused Therapy. As a result of his prior service as a military psychologist, Dr. Atkinson also has expertise in the treatment of military Service Members, Veterans, and their families. He earned his Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology from Rosemead School of Psychology at Biola University in 2006, and began practicing in Vacaville in 2012.

Dr. Atkinson relies on thorough assessments to develop individually-tailored treatment plans, and his treatments combine cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), attachment-based therapy and psychodynamic therapy to facilitate growth and healing.

About Mrs. Julianne Hicks

Mrs. Julianne Hicks is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist who worked for many years doing lay counseling in a church setting before returning to school to complete a Master’s degree in Marriage and Family Therapy.

Julie has experience working with adults with a variety of mental, emotional, relational and spiritual issues including anxiety, depression, family and relational issues, grief, and other life challenges. She also has experience working with adolescents through school-based counseling, which has equipped her to help her teenaged clients with a wide range of challenges unique to their stage of development. When working with couples and families, Julie is Certified in Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), which is a highly effective evidence-based therapy to repair relational distress.

She has a passion to provide a safe environment where her clients can share honestly and feel heard and accepted, regardless of the issues. As a Christian, Julie understands that faith plays an important part in many people’s lives, and she is very comfortable integrating faith into therapy for those clients who want that to be a focus. Julie uses a combination of evidenced based practices to aid her clients in their journey towards a healthier and more fulfilling life.

About Dr. Maria Ortiz-Baker

Dr. Ortiz-Baker is a Licensed Clinical Psychologist who specializes in treating adults with anxiety disorders, depression and a wide variety of relational problems. With over 15 years of experience helping people alter unhealthy thinking and relationship patterns, she combines compassion, exploration and skill-building in order to facilitate practical change. She empowers others to find confidence in practicing skills that make a difference in their day-to-day mental health.

Dr. Ortiz-Baker applies Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) to help clients identify and facilitate change in faulty thinking and behavior. She also utilizes Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT) to examine the impact of trauma, and assist clients to heal from traumatic experiences by examining the domains of safety, trust, power, control, esteem and intimacy.

Dr. Ortiz-Baker skillfully assists her clients to incorporate their personal resources into treatment including their faith, culture and personal strengths and interests. For those who identify as Christian, she enjoys integrating principles of her Christian faith as a way to help others heal emotionally and spiritually.

Mr. Jeremiah Neal is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker. Currently as a Social Worker and previously serving 10 years in the United States Air Force, Mr. Neal developed and maintains the desire to support his clients in obtaining understanding, healing, and connection.

Jeremiah practices Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) for Couples and has received advanced training and supervision in this powerful therapy. He greatly desires to assist couples by reconnecting and bonding in new and profound ways. He also utilizes Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Mindfulness approaches to support individuals with various mental health challenges including anxiety, depression, and issues unique to men.

Mrs. Cameron Lewis is an Associate Marriage and Family Therapist who has a passion for holding space for others and helping clients see their truest potential. Cameron graduated from the University of San Francisco and has earned a Master’s degree in Counseling Psychology with an emphasis in Marriage & Family Therapy. Cameron has several years of experience working with teens, adults and individuals with developmental differences and co-occurring disorders. She has worked in a variety of settings including schools, in-home care, and private practice.

Cameron uses empathy and compassion to help clients feel seen and head when addressing life’s challenges. In session, she uses a collaborative approach and believes individuals are experts of their own lives. Cameron desires to assist clients in building positive connections and encouraging healthy relational patterns.

Mrs. Zelina Silber is an Associate Marriage and Family Therapist who graduated Suma Cum Laude from Touro University with her Master’s Degree in Marriage and Family Therapy. She has experience working with teens and adults with Mood Disorders and Personality Disorders, and her areas of clinical emphasis include evidence-based treatments for anxiety, depression, post-traumatic stress (PTSD), codependency and substance abuse.

Zelina recognizes that while seeking out therapy may at times feel overwhelming, the potential benefits of discovering one’s inner strength, finding deeper understanding, and experiencing healing constitute a wonderful investment in ourselves and our relationships. While providing therapy, she also believes in the advocacy of mental health awareness and how much therapy can serve as an ally during some of life’s most challenging seasons.
